Pioneer Electric Cooperative is governed by a board of trustees who are members of the cooperative. They are elected by the membership of the cooperative to serve a term as defined in the bylaws of the cooperative. There are nine members of this board who represent the nine districts of the Pioneer Electric service area.

The board of directors has given the mandate to the management of Pioneer Electric Cooperative to find the best possible staff available and to provide electric service to its members in the most cost effective means possible.
